We'd like to share with you some of the wonderful emails that we have received since we began our website. Most of these we have had for a couple of years and we hesitated to share them because this kind of thing tends to be a little self-indulgent. That is not our purpose. We take no glory in what God has done. We're just as amazed as anyone. Some of these were so personal to us and the writer that we either could not share them or we edited them greatly. Some of them have broken our hearts as we have read them because was so hard to believe that people could go through such things and come out alive. We are thankful that we have been able to minister to and encourage these incredible human beings, some of whom we knew as teens and have not heard from or seen in 30 years! All of the emails have been very encouraging to us, but some are utterly amazing testimonies of God's faithfulness and ability to use one little song to change so many lives. Our prayer is that as you read, you will be encouraged in the Lord and that your faith will be increased in knowing that God can use anything that you place in His hands. Robbie & Martha Hello, I want to let you know what a blessing your song "Alpha and Omega" has been to me. I became a Christian in 1985 at the age of 22. Alpha and Omega was one of the first Christian songs I ever heard. Over the years, I have heard many more, and I can honestly say that it is without a doubt the most powerful, anointed songs I am aware of. I read your testimony, and I agree that the Lord did give you that song through His Word. The first version I heard must have been from the album "Clean"- My friend had told me that it was by Robbie and Martha- but I could never find any such album in the stores-and I have never actually had a copy of the song. Is that original recording available on cd or cassette? Is there anyway I could obtain a copy? Thanks and God Bless... Mark
I have been blessed out of my shoes with the song u wrote alpha and omega and I trust that the Lord is still going to use your talents in miraculous ways. Myself and a few cousins formed a singing group called the cousins and we would like to use the song Alpha and Omega on a recording we intend to make in April 2005. We are aware of the copyrights and all but we need your permission to alter some of the words on the song. We believe that the changes will not affect the anointing on the song nor the message it sends across. The intended changes are right at the end of the song where the lyric says 'Second person in the trinity" we would like to change it to "bread of life He is the victory". We hope that this request will be looked at favorably and i look forward to your response. Greetings in the Name of Jesus and may you have a blessed Holiday season. Hein, Johannesburg, South Africa
Thank you for taking the time to listen to my story the other day. Matthew Longino and his wife Theresa have been very close friends of mine for about five years. We fellowship together with a small group of about twelve every Wednesday night and have done so for the past five years. Matthew passed away on June 2, 2005 at the age of 44. Matthew’s favorite song since about the age of 13 has been Alpha and Omega. He heard you perform it for the first time at a youth rally here in Jacksonville with David Wilkerson around 1973. It touched his heart at that time and has continued to do so since. He always said when he heard A & O, he knew he was where he was supposed to be. When he went to the hospital in mid May, I made a CD with A&O on it for his wife to play for him. He was in ICU on a ventilator for 3-1/2 weeks, but Theresa played the CD for him everyday. As he was dying, Theresa sang A&O to him. The night of his death, Theresa called and asked me to sing A&O as the recessional at his funeral. I told her I would, but I knew the Holy Spirit was going to be busy holding me up that day. In my heart, I knew there was something very special about A&O and Matthew. I began to research A&O on the internet and found your website with the A&O story. As I read the story, I could see the hand of God all over the song, Matthew, Theresa and myself. I realized from the story you were from Jacksonville and that is where A&O was born. When I told Theresa I had found the A&O story, she sat down and told me the story of Matthew and A&O. Matthew met Theresa one evening after hearing A&O (he believed he was where he was supposed to be). At every turning point in his life Matthew heard A&O and knew that was where he was supposed to be. One morning in church Matthew was supposed to do the scripture readings and was extremely uneasy (this is unusual for Matthew). A&O wasn’t to be sung that day, but when Matthew looked on top of the piano, the sheet music to A&O was there. He read that morning with no problem. As I began to sing A&O yesterday at the funeral, I was nervous, but before I started “Behold, the tabernacle….” my voice was strong and knew that Matthew, Theresa and myself were all where we were supposed to be at that moment. Again, thank you for taking the time to listen to my story, and especially thank you for “Alpha and Omega”! Regina
Isn't the Internet something. You probably don't even remember me, but as a child, I always thought it was pretty cool having the "Kinfolk" staying at our home. Through the years, I've never forgotten the names Robbie and Martha Trice. I was only about 10 or 11, and I don't remember a lot about that time of my life, but I remember a lot about you. Thanks for the good memories! Mark
My church is sending out our youth pastor next week Sunday as a missionary to Africa and our men's quartet wanted to sing this song (Alpha and Omega) for the occasion. I just want the sheet music for the song and was hoping to find it online at a digital sheet music site. Bob, Menomonee Falls, MI
Robbie, My wife and I go to Sunday evening service early as our children..Joshua age 14 is in the High School Choir, and my daughter Kayleigh 9, is in Awana's. Anyway.. this was 2 Sunday nights ago.. we are sitting in the sanctuary awaiting church to start when the Men's Choir started the intro to Alpha and Omega. I was happy for you that your music was still making an impact.. years after you wrote the song. I was thinking how many in this church know that Robbie was from Jacksonville... I was excited to get the CD for you... I have no idea what its like to give birth to a song that lives and lives..but it must be a cool blessing. I pray God continues to bless you and your wife AND your music. Life long fan.. Paul
Dearest FRIEND in GOD, I am so desperately thankful to Jesus for leading us to you, through this cd! Reading your e-mail has blessed me, and inspired me so tremendously. May I share something with you? Last night we all (Called 4) met for a practice cession as we have a chance to minister again on Sunday morning, but we ended up just sitting and chatting about what we feel in our hearts, and what we desire in our outreach towards God through our singing. Your timing of sending this e-mail, is so perfect, as this is truly a confirmation of exactly what we spoke about last night. We pray that God will always keep us humble, as we never EVER want to think for a second, that we are bigger than what we do. And it is a burning, yearning desire of our group to just worship and honour our Creator. That is the "Alpha & Omega" in our lives! From everyone in the group, may I really thank you, and pray God's blessings over you, for being such inspiration and strength to us. This song has grown in our hearts and spirits, and we know that Alpha & Omega will still reach places and destinations far beyond South Africa. I know God just has wonderful, powerful things in store for you! Greater than you can ever imagine!!! It is amazing to think that you were only 19 when you wrote this song!!!! WOW, having a calling for your life at such a young age, must have been AWESOME?!! I know that I know that I know that God looks at you, " and Rejoices over you with GLADNESS"!!! Thank you again for sowing into our lives, by blessing us with your thoughts and affording us the awesome privilege of recording the anointing that God has placed in your heart. Know, that Jeremiah 31:3 belongs to YOU, for God says: " For I have loved you, with an EVERLASTING LOVE, therefore, I have drawn you closer to Me..." Maybe one day, it can be God's will to allow us to meet, and we can sing this song together. Again, thank you Mr. Trice, for being an example to us, of how God rewards humbleness, and faithfulness. We are looking forward to a new, long lasting friendship in Christ, and pray that God will multiply your time, so that you can keep on blessing this dry and thirsty land with your songs! God bless you and your family ALWAYS!! André, South Africa
Martha, I used to go to hear Kinfolk in Jacksonville, FL. every weekend. (I think it was St. Peter's). I was looking thru my book of poems & song lyrics from that time and I came across many Kinfolk songs.I am writing you to let you know that, like Ray Boles' song "Thank You for Giving To The Lord" because of you and Kinfolk "I have a life that was changed".May God continue to bless your ministry. Debbie (circa mid to late 1970's)
Hello Robbie and Martha! I am a long-time fan of yours from my teenage years at Glynlea United Methodist Church. At the time I was Mary Wildey, and I was a tag-along kid with the Jack and Alice Berry family. I have thought of you so many times over the years during my Christian walk. I had a very difficult first marriage, but The Lord has blessed me with a wonderful husband of 10 years now, who is assistant pastor at our church. I can't tell you how many times I've wished I could share your music with him. I had the Kinfolk album, which I believe was your first album, and it was a prized possession, which was lost when I left the 1st marriage. Some of the songs were, Alpha and Omega, Clean, May I Introduce You To A Friend, (Martha that is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard), and I think Bank of Heaven was on there too. Anyway, while riding with some friends who sing in a Christian choir, I started singing some of your songs, and they loved them! Please tell me if that old album is available. I would love to have those beautiful songs in my possession again. It's been 30 years since I heard you perform, but I wanted you to know how your music touched my young life, and how everyone in Kinfolk and Glynlea Church helped direct my path to Our Loving Savior. Now I'm 44, living in Upstate NY, walking with God, and loving the life He has given me. Thank you for the part you played in that. Love In Christ, Mary |
